Woodstock Festival attracted about 400,000 people...
10,000,0000 if you count half the people that claim to have been at trhe Woodstock Festival.
The impact of the Woodstock Festival was was so deep on the people that whether or not you attended the Woodstock Festival - you were there man! Up until Woodstock, the "establishment" generally thought of the "hippies" as an insignificant group of social outcasts with little political impact. Then "Along Came Mary" at Woodstock and changed all that... the hippies quickly grew into a powerful force
in the US anti-war movement.
Many of the performers at the Woodstock Festival were either blues
musicians or deeply rooted in the blues - Jimi Hendrix, Janis
Joplin, The Grateful Dead, Santana, The Who, Joe Cocker, Blood,
Sweat & Tears, Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Credence
Clearwater Revival, The Band, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Neil
Young and the Jefferson Airplane. Hmmm.. Maybe they should have
called it... "Woodstock Festival - 3 Days of Blues &
Peace".
