A Blues Marathon will be held at Bella Shlomkins in Tel Aviv, 13 Noah Moses st (other side of the bridge next to the Yediot Aharonot bldg), Tuesday , 17th August, 20:00.

The marathon is a showcase of unknown and little-known blues bands from around the country: Among the bands particpating are:

*Blues Train - the Mike Pery Jerusalem blues band.
*Trask - an R n B and Blues Rock band
*Paul Moore - in a one-man -band show
*Avi Eylot - a Beer Sheva blues- rock band
*Shmuel (Johnny) Mayer of Blues for Peace fame, singing and playing together with the Blues Train band
* She Rock - Shelly Ellen, Betty Maoz, Yael Cohen ( new drummer - formerly of the Machashefot band)
* CG and the Hammer - Dov Hammer and Sagie Shorer blues band
*Mojo Blues Band - a Tel Aviv blues band

Last year,the Jerusalem blues rock trio SOBO, competed at the 20th International Blues Challenge (IBC) in Memphis, TN, January 29-31, 2004. Ninety four bands competed for $25, 000 in cash and prizes at the Blues Foundation's annual event.

One of the bands will be chosen to represent Israel at the 2005 IBC competition. Blues for Peace, is an affiliate organization of the Blues Foundation. For more info, contact BFP.
