Well, he gave his buddy Duane Allman his 1961 Gibson SG guitar and Duane played it on most of his blues slide guitar solo's on stage and recordings. And if you ever seen an Allman Brothers concert, you have heard Dickey Betts's songs like "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed" and "Blue Sky". After Duane Allman died, Dicky Betts became the leader, lead guitar player, song writer.. you name it.. everyghing except take the tickets and an Allman Brother's concert.. Recently, Diciky Bettts as "Dickey Betts and Great Southern" and doing what he does best.. play kick ass blues straight from the gut and with all his heart.
